Embarking on a trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) with a climb to Island Peak is an exciting and thrilling journey in the Khumbu region. While it is more challenging than other treks to EBC due to the inclusion of climbing Island Peak, no prior experience in scaling mountains is necessary to undertake this journey. With good physical health and very little technical knowledge, our experienced guides will orient you before climbing Island Peak.
This trek offers a chance to explore the stunning beauty of mountainous peaks in the Khumbu region, including Mount Everest, Mt. Cho yo, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and many others. You will also hike to the top of Kala Patthar, where you can enjoy 360° views of mountains around and the closest view of Mount Everest.
Throughout the trek, you will experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people in their villages. They are known as mighty climbers, and you will receive traditional Nepali cuisine and local hot beverages at tea houses along the way. Although the community life is not so prosperous, the service they provide is homely and welcoming. You will see ancient monasteries decorated with prayer wheels and prayer flags, which showcase the religious inclination of Sherpa people towards Buddhist culture.
Island Peak Climb with EBC is the perfect blend of trekking and climbing in the Everest region. It is an ideal trip for novice climbers and mountain lovers as it offers the best peak climbing experience. Island Peak, also known as Imja Tse, rises like a spectacular island of rock and ice surrounded by glaciers and 8,000 and 7,000-meter peaks. It is one of the easiest trekking peaks in Nepal, and the ascent to its summit at 6,189m involves a traverse through the glacier and moderate snow and ice climbing.
The trek will take you through mountainside Sherpa villages, high mountain passes, and glaciers to reach the Island Peak Base Camp. After ample acclimatization days, you will make your summit bid with the help of our experienced guides. Safety is our number one priority, and we do a double check on all our climbing equipment and gear to ensure that safety procedures are in place throughout the trip.
Our climbing guide has more than 20 years of experience in mountain climbing and has reached the top of Island Peak several times. During the pre-climb training at the Base Camp, you will receive valuable inputs from our experienced guides and an opportunity to brush up on your climbing skills.
We are confident that this will be an unforgettable experience and your first victory lingers for a lifetime.
